Yonex Rdx

Which one is better, the Yonex Rds 003 or the RDX 300?
I mean the older model of the RDS 003.
Yonex RDS 003
Groundstrokes
The first impression is that it is tricky to find the sweetspot. The extra length and the much higher sweetspot compared to the APD required so time to get used to it. I would say that the SW is almost identical to my Babolat (I know TW says 315 vs 330, but it doesn't feel like that). Not even as maneuvrable as my APD (which had a leather grip) I don't have to put to much spin to keep the ball in. I can use my full swing on both side without bothering that much. Less powered, better control and very precise. Nice deep slices, good spin potential. Well balanced. For me the tension is too high or the BB Alu is too hard. I don't find the frame really comfortable with this setup. Like this, it doesn't play any bigger than the 100 in² isometric headsize stated. I remember the RDX500MP to be more forgiving with it's amazing feel and comfort. I'll try with a softer poly at a lower tension next week.
Serves
The APD was the best serving stick I've ever tried. Pace, spin... I win much more points with it. The RDX300 was the least powered serving frame ever. Good kick, but no pace at all. The RDS003 is not that far from the Babolat. Good surprise! The extra length helps a bit. Good control, nice SW => flat, slice and kick are fine. Didn't need too much adjustment. As good as a Pure Storm.
Serve Returns
Not the best mobility. With lower tension, I think I'll improve this part when increasing comfort and forgiveness.
Volleys
Nice balance of feel and power. Drop shots and half volleys are easier to control. Good depth after all.
Cheers Gordo

Yonex $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Yonex Co., Ltd. (TYO: 7906) is a Japanese manufacturer of sporting equipment for badminton, golf and tennis, producing racquets, clubs, shoes, shuttlecocks, and other equipment for those sports. The company was founded in 1946 by Minoru Yoneyama as a producer of wooden floats for fishing nets. The company was later forced out of this market because of the invention of plastic floats. This led to a commitment by Yoneyama to never again be left behind by technological advancements. In 1957, Yoneyama began to make badminton racquets for other brands. By 1961, the first Yoneyama branded racquet was introduced, and within another two years an export company was created for the worldwide distribution. After the company began to make aluminum badminton racquets in 1969, it found that the same technology could be applied to the tennis racquet which the company introduced in 1971. I am a pretty good player but when the match starts I choke and can’t make a shots to save my life. Advice?
I have been playing tennis for about 10 years. I am 22 and my skill level is about 4.0. I have had this problem for the past 2 years or so.
I have an incredible first serve, 125-130mph (it’s been clocked with a radar gun) with good placement and a good second serve with lots of kick. It seems like that is where my tennis skills end. I know I am a good player, I make good shots and have a decent amount of power in practice and when playing for fun. When I start a match I seem to get shy about hitting like I do in practice/warm-ups. I start hitting easy forehands into the net and hitting drop shots 10 feet past the baseline. I really don’t know what is up with game but rankings are starting to slip and I can’t seem to shake this problem. I have tried not caring so much but that doesn’t help.
Has anyone else had this problem? How did you or would you shake this problem?
I am using a Yonex RDX 500 MP… not that it matters.
Ocali is right. You probably choke because you don't play enough matches. I'm a NTRP 5.0 and when I was less experienced, I let my nerves get the best of me. Now don't get me wrong, feeling nervous is a common thing and a good thing. It makes you think about your shots and focus even more during your match. Getting nervous can be a bad thing as you said, it can make you choke. Being nervous is just human, it happens to everybody. I have a little advice for you though for your match.
1. When your playing a match you should work yourself into the match. For example, when you are in the first game of the match, don't go for as much on your shots. Go for about 50% on your shots to start the match. This helps you to settle in.
2. Watch a match of pro tennis, like Federer and Nadal. Watch how they go for their shots with the utmost amount of confidence. Then when you get on the court, copy their attitude and intensity level. Focus on every shot and just play tennis.
3. If you start choking just tell yourself this one thing. "There are people who control their nerves and win championships, and there are people who don't and lose.
Don't feel embarassed because we have all had this experience before.
I hope this helps you!
