Where do I take my 10 year old to receive Tennis Lessons or join a Tennis team in SF to San Bruno for the Summer of 2007? My daughter loves to play around and has a lot of fun, does anyone know where I can take her?
go to your local tennis club, they will have better coaching than the dodgy coaching at YMCA

Tennis Year Opens With a Bang
With a purse of a little more than a million dollars, all eyes will be on Andy Murray, last year’s winner, and whether he will be able to retain his title this year. Held in the Khalifa International Tennis Complex in Doha, Qatar, it will be the 17th edition of the open. The dates of the tournament are 5th January (Monday) to 10th January (Saturday), when the final will be held.
Known for its hard fast play, mostly due to a plexicushion surface similar to the one used at the Australian Open, games will be fought between grand slam winners and runners up of the previous year. Though the court is reputed to be appropriate for all players, the surface is faster than other surfaces placing hard hitters are at an advantage, placing Wimbledon and French Open winner Monte Carlo and Roger Federer, one of the best players the game has produced, as favourites.
Of equal repute, last year’s winner Andy Murray and Andy Roddick’s tenacity in the exhaustive heat will tax the reserves of skill and stamina of their challengers. Particular focus will be on World number one Roger Federer, who having won in 2005 and 2006 was absent in 2007 and 2008, and whether he can wrest the title from its 2008 owner. Being part of the ATP tour, ATP tennis results will include results of the Qatar Open.
The Open’s Khalifa International Tennis Complex will have 1 centre court, having a capacity of 6800, and 25 outdoor courts, 10 of which will be used for the tournament. 7 outdoor practice courts are 15 minutes from where players will be staying i.e. the Ritz Carlton, and where a glimpse of the top seeds can be sought. Desperate to make tennis a popular sport, tournament organizers place no limits on providing the best facilities for spectators and participants alike. One unique feature of the tournament is that the winner will be presented with a golden falcon and a golden sword in addition to the prize money!
The Qatar Open is part of the attempt of the series of desert kingdoms the region to attain a significant international profile in the sports world. Tennis, with its extensive following and superstar elite players, is well suited for projection and needs comparatively lesser infrastructure compared to other sports. The Qatar Open, in conjunction with the other tournaments in the region, and with other tennis competitions – especially from the WTA tour, has opened up the region to sports which include high profile games like golf and football.
