Old Wilton

Did she mean it at the time?
The Wilton's across the road took the painting that hung in their hall to TV's The Antiques Road Show where it was valued at £10 grand. She said it was nice to hear that but as a family heirloom it will go to their son (Who, by the way, bug gered off at 16) so they'd never part with it. Now the painting's missing from their hall, they've got a new car and just come back from three weeks in Spain. Old Wilton says the painting's in the bank for safe keeping.
they,ve spent up and why should,nt they it was their painting afterall and stop being nosy!

Redneck Repairman Mounts A Neat Old Wilton Vise To The Neat Old Pedestal Part 2
This is a cake decorating question. Has anyone ever used sugar molds with 2 colors.?
This is a 4-H cake decorating project that my daughter has. We have asked many decorators and wilton instructors but no one seems to know. This is an older technique we believe. The requirement is: Category h) sugar molds, 2 or more colors in 1 mold. This sugar paste is not considered to be gumpaste or fondant. Use of those will be counted down. It is supposed to be a mixture of sugar and water with meringue powder as optional. We have tried several times with 1 color and are having trouble getting it to release from the mold. Thanks for any help.
Hi- Make sure your mold is completely clean and dry. Hard plastic molds work best. After you have your sugar mixture mixed together in a bowl, place the mixture in your mold. Make sure you don't have any gaps, and scrape level with a knife or metal spatula. Then, while still in the mold, take a spoon and start removing sugar mixture from the center part of the mold. Remove a little at a time. (This will be your solid back piece of the egg.) You will find it easier to make the walls thicker at first, but with practise, the thinner they are, the better! While you are removing the sugar mixture with the spoon, do not touch the sides, as they will weaken.
When you have the desired shape and thickness, carefully invert your mold on a cookie sheet, or something sturdy. Very carefully, remove your mold and DO NOT TOUCH the sugar mixture.
For the finished part of the egg that will have the front opening, you do the same as the back, but after you invert it, cover the area that you will use for the opening with a piece of paper, or plastic, in the shape (oval) that you want to cut out. You can check this after several hours. You want this to start to dry, but soft enough to remove this front area safely.
Depending on your weather and humidity levels, this should be dry in 1-2 or more days. The longer the better, and as it very strong when it is completely dry. I always gave myself at least a week or two before needing them.
Most people that I have known that make these eggs, etc will keep the mold solid when they invert the mold onto the cookie sheet and start drying it before they scrape out the inner sugar. I have done this dozens and hundreds of times and I like to scrap the mixture out, invert, and then walk away.
Once they are completely dry, you can make them perfect by using a very fine sand paper to make prettier, but most people don't need to get that fancy.
This technique is quite an art, as you can decorate the insides with all sorts of things in your imagination ![]()
I hope this helped you. If you are having trouble getting it to release from the mold, make sure your mold is clean and dry, and make sure your sugar mixture isn't too wet. If you need a recipe for the mixture, I can look it up, or if you have other questions, feel free to ask
