Do dwarf hamsters NEED smaller tubular cages than other types of (bigger) hamsters?
i just got a russian dwarf hamster and i was searching the web looking for things about cages for 'dwarf hamsters'. i saw that dwarf hamsters would not use critter trail or anything else with tubes. they said that dwarf hamsters would be too small....
is this true??
i have a medium sized critter trail cage.. is it pointless to have the tubes?
Dwarf hamsters are indeed normally to small to use the tubes, they cant spread there legs far enough to scale it - not only this, but ive found that most dwarfs don't even enjoy tubes, just use them when they have to.
Although my opinion isn't a commonly shared one, as I believe there isn't a medium crittertrail, as they dont have the minimum floor space recommended by hamster association's.
