more like the guy (in the bottom links).. i play alot of tennis, and i've notice alot of people hold it how it feels comfortable to them and they play amazing that way. so do whatever floats your boat!!

How to Hit Tennis Strokes Using the Net as a Positive
is serve and volley a good play style?
ok im 15 and im pretty good at the baseline like everyone else that plays singles in my leage but ive been playing virtua tennis(videogame lolz) watching matches and such and ive been wondering is it a good style to play 90% of the time, which means ill be training in volleying and getting to the net fast, or is it better to just play like everyone else and play baseline and work more on my forehand strokes??
Two words for ya: Pete Sampras. Keep in mind that in the era of mostly baseliners, you'll have to make sure your serve is great, so that your opponent will hit returns that are easier for you to volley. The problem with a lot of the players today when they try to serve and volley is that the returners often hit wicked baseline returns, or put the ball at their feet. If you can build up to great serving and volleying techniques, you will definitely have the edge over baseliners, particularly on grass and hard courts.
