Activision Tennis $87.62 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Activision Tennis is a 1981 Atari 2600 video game by Activision. It was one of a series of sports games by Activision, which also included 1980s Activision Boxing. Activision Tennis was designed by Activision cofounder, Alan Miller. Activision Tennis is played for one set of games, in which the first player to win six games won the competition, unlike real life tennis, where competitors have to win, at least, two out of three six game sets. One of the players on the screen appears in pink; the other one in blue. Most of tennis rules applied to this game, except that there are no out of bounds shots. Shots that hit the lines were always considered inbound shots. Due to technical limitations (low resolution), the tennis ball appears as a block instead of a sphere. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 108 Publication Date: 2011/04/04 Language: English Dimensions: 9.02 x 5.98 x 0.26 inches |

The Future of Lawn Tennis in Sydney
Lawn Tennis in Sydney has existed in one form or another since early in the 1800s all the way to the network of clubs that exist and provide members with lawn tennis courts and facilities today.
Social Lawn Tennis in Sydney
Social lawn tennis in Sydney undergone many changes over the years and at various stages has even been threatened due to existing clubs converting lawn tennis courts into synthetic grass in an effort to minimise maintenance costs and maximise usage.
The good news is that, with many clubs in Sydney (among them Royal Sydney, Hunters Hill Lawn Tennis Club, White City, Cheltenham LTC and Mosman LTC to name but a few) maintaining either some or all of their original lawn tennis courts, the unique playing experience is alive and well.
Competition Lawn Tennis in Sydney
One of the reasons for this longevity can be identified as being the strength and depth of the premier lawn tennis competition in NSW, namely the Badge competition run by the Metropolitan Grass Court Clubs Association (MGCCA). Badge is a doubles competition with the main competition played on Saturday afternoons, from March to July each year. Many of the best non-touring players in Sydney are in the top badge teams but all standards are catered for. There are Thursday Ladies competitions and Spring Badge Competitions.
Teams are entered by clubs with good facilities (showers, licensed bars). Some of the courts are natural grass, the competition is Sydney wide and there is an emphasis on social interaction during and after the match.
The Future
The future of lawn tennis in Sydney lies squarely in the hands of existing players and those involved encouraging young new members to enjoy the unique experience that is playing lawn tennis in one of the most beautiful cities in the world - Sydney.
