WHAT KIND OF TENNIS RACQUET SHOULD I BUY? i am on a tight budget.?
i play real competitive tennsi and recently broke my raquets one was too old other well i hti it too hard. both were wilson hyper hammer 4.3 midsize. apprently both were like 6 years old. now i haev to find a new raquet i ws t hinking of the same one and i lok on the internet they are between 99 to 230 dolalrs but i was planning to buy it from here in person and 230 is alot. i was also thinking of a price raquet this time? shoudl i go for a newer raquet or stick to this one? i can affor 250 dolalrs 500 for a pair. i am really clueless about raquets 15 years old real good and play under 18 and no wim dead. so cany any explain to me y my raquwet that is so old is worth 230 on the market while newer raquets are less tahn that and should i stick to this one and y, or shud i upgrade and to what model? if u say upgrade give reasons please and if u can find me a nice prince or head raquet. i am 15 play under 18 provincial ontario use midsize. thanks alot i appreciate it had no1 else to ask.
The only reason to pay that much for that racket is because it might be hard to find and some one desperate to have it will pay it.
If you liked that racket and have tried most of the others Check Holabird.com for your racket... not sure if they have the exact one, check it out...Around $100
Both Holabird.com and Tennis-warehouse.com have discounted rackets (also erackets.com and sure there are others...) Both offer consumer reviews/comments (see if the person who recommends the raqcket hits like you do) and both have some classic great rackets on sale/clearance that you can save a lot on.
Since you do not know much about the different types of rackets (control Rackets, power rackets etc) your best bet may be to call either one of the places and describe your game and your finances for 2 rackets and they will be able to get you in the right sticks. My only suggestion is that if you order two rackets at the same time is that you ask them to have the SAME person string both rackets. If not the odds are the rackets won't be the same.
Note: Power rackets are for people who need more depth in their shots. If you are a hard hitter you need a control racket. If you are learning or just starting to hit harder lean towards a control racket. POWER RACKETS have prevented MANY good players from advancing their game! If you do not use a lot of power in your strokes and rely on accuracy and depth to make your shots good Power rackets will help you hit the ball deeper into the court (not harder!). If you own a powerful racket it is extremely difficult to control the depth of your shots without excessive top spin. When hitting hard your shots will simply not be consistant and the ball can go flying out several feet even if you were to strike the ball perfectly (John McEnroe could hit better than perfectly and he could hit hard and keep it in inspite of his racket and strings -45lbs).Switch his racket with any of the top hitters like Federer, Andy R., Rafa etc and people in the seats up high in the back of the courts will be sitting ducks.
