Dressing for Atlanta's Spring weather?
Hi,
I'm from sunny Southern California, and would like some packing tips for travel to Atlanta next weekend. I have checked all of the weather sites, and I see that there are showers and thunderstorms, but the temps are high. (I know it will be humid!) I have two children, ages 6 & 7. I was thinking to just bring light cotton clothes that can be layered. I've already packed a light rain jacket and umbrella for both, along with sandals and tennis shoes. I don't want to over-bundle them, but I don't want them to be cold/soggy. I am only bringing a pair or two of shorts, since the weather doesn't seem to know what it wants to do. Any other suggestions or ideas? Thanks!
We'll be going next weekend and staying for two weeks. Thanks to everyone for your advice..the weather reports give the impression of stormy weather, but I guess it is on and off, and not cold...weird. I am DEFINITELY a California Girl!
If you mean this weekend, mothers day weekend, i would not worry about being cold, i see mid 80's and sun till Sunday. then mid to low 70's for Sunday and Monday. Humidity could be a nightmare depending on how the front comes to us for Sunday. My advice, dress very casually (shorts, Capri's, etc.), keep sleeves short but remember to bring a sweater or light jacket in case you go into a building, we in the south love our A/C and must have it going on full blast and the icier the better! For my kids I might pack a few pairs of shorts/Capri's/Bermuda shorts, one pair of jeans, a few t-shirts, a light jacket or sweater, socks in case wear tennis shoes, under garments, and something to sleep in. Depends on how long you are staying really. Do pack sandals/flip flops and tennis shoes for Sunday especially since we don't know how that front will come in.
