Comparing Tennis Serves - Flat Serve vs. Kick Serve

How can I make my tennis serves more consistent?

Whenever I serve, it either gets out, or I hit it too hard and it goes past the box.

My question is how do I make the ball land in the middle of the service box? (I think that's whats its called, sorry i'm a beginner) What am I doing wrong?

When you are at the very top with your serve, snap your wrist downward. Thats called pronation. That will help you keep the ball from going to far.

To get it in the box, there are practice things to help you. Step up to the service line and do your serve. Since you are so close to the box, it should be no problem getting the ball in. Serve a bunch of times then step back to the base line and try again. It should be easier to get it in.

You can email me if you have more questions

Good luck!

~Claire~

good but how do you do it ?

  • it's a general rule if player A serves first in the set
if the set ends with even number of games >>> player A serves first in the next set
if the set ends with odd number of games >>> player B serves first in the next set
set with a tiebreak is considered an odd set
