French, how to tell if a word is masculine or feminine.?
Hi, i have this french homework and im a little stuck,
it says....
"Insert the correct word for 'my', 'your' etc. into each gap.
1. Ou as-tu mis_________sac? (your)
2. Je ne trouve plus________affaires! (my)
3. Chris a perdu_______raquette de tennis. (his)
i know that there is 'mon' 'ma' and 'mes' for 'my' but how do you know when to use 'mon' or 'ma'? for example in number two.
Also how when do you know how to use their, our, her, his and your? any help is very grateful. thanks
I'm french and i know it may be the hardest language to learn so im gonan try to explain you:
mon (masc) / ma (fem) son (masc) / sa (fem)
mon sac = my bag / son sac = his - her bag (it's the noun which counts, not if it's a boy or a girl)
ma femme = my wife / sa femme = his wife (or her wife but weird lol)
WARNING : if the noun begin with a,e,i,o,u,y you have to use 'son' even if the noun is fem. Ex : orange is fem so we say "son orange" to say "her - his orange"
mes (pl)
mes soeurs ou mes frères = my sisters or my brothers
So here :
1. Ou as-tu mis_____TON____sac? (sac is masc)
2. Je ne trouve plus____MES____affaires! (pl)
3. Chris a perdu__SA_____raquette de tennis. (raquette is fem)

table tennis (ping pong) paddle or raquette or whatever it's called?
this is sad, but later today i'm going to the sports authority to buy a ping pong paddle in order to gain an edge on my little brother. I say little brother, but he's 19yrs old, and not so little. We're pretty even skill wise, so i just want a little advantage to drive him nuts. does anyone know of a good paddle? i only want to spend about $25.
You should purchase your ping pong paddle at a store like Dick's or Sport Authority or someplace like that. Juic Advance, Smasher, and Butterfly all should sell for under $30. Good luck!
