Tennis Raquetball

How do i get better at tennis?
I want to become better at tennis within 3-4 months? Is that possible? I really want to join in my school's tennis team this year. I took class lessons every Saturday for one month. I no longer take lessons and soon I will be privately instructed by my cousin, which has good tennis experience. Will this help me? I also practice daily on a raquetball court and read "Tennis for Dummies". Please no rude comments. Thanks!
I play high school tennis, too, and what I've learned is that nobody can make you better; it's your will to improve that makes a difference. Of course it is possible to become better at tennis within 3-4 months, but that doesn't mean you'll become top 50 in the nation within that time. Depending on your high school, it should be fairly easy to make the team. Your coach matters, but not as much as your will to improve does. When you're on the court and afterwards you need to think about the things you need to do to keep getting better and just do whatever it takes. The amount of time you put into tennis also matters (how much you practice, run, etc.).
Hope this helps.

tennis pro- retard playing racquetball
Can you use a tennis racket for raquetball?
I'm looking to save some money. I'm not looking to go pro, just to play leisurely.
Definitely not recommended.
It's not possible to move the head of a tennis racket with enough speed and accuracy a racquetball in ball in play. The ball can come at you from any of 4 of 5 directions (4 walls plus the ceiling) and can be very close to the floor or wall.
Also, the strings in a tennis racket will be destroyed very quickly by the force of the much harder ball.
And most important...people will laugh at you.

hello, currently I am a sophomore at Ohio State University studying biology. I recently switched my major because I felt I wasn’t getting anything out of my previous major (health sciences). Taking harder/”real” classes scares me to death but I’ve always felt that things that take you out of your comfort zone are good for you. I tend to stay in my comfort zone for too long and I don’t take the risks that I should (i.e. girls). I really enjoying going to school and honestly I love going to class. I work at a lab on campus but I am still learning and I get quite nervous in the lab for some reason. The nervousness leads to my hands shaking and working with small instruments with shaky hands is very hard. More experienced people in lab watch me and I become very embarrassed although they encourage me. I hope one day to go to physical therapy school. I really enjoy music and I am currently listening to Bon Iver, one of my favorite bands. I play the guitar but I’m really not that good but I really love to play I also love to play sports (basketball, baseball, tennis, raquetball). but my one true love in life is golf. I’ve played since I was four and it’s the only thing that I’ve really loved. My best memories pre-college is my dad and I teeing off at sunrise and not saying a word to each other for an hour, just playing golf. I played in high school and I am very proud of my high school career and all wanted to do at the time was to play in college. I am naturally a very nervous person and I eventually got burned out because I was in a constant state of nervousness because I was playing a lot of tournaments in the summer time. I still love the game. A lot of my friends make fun of the sport and it upsets me for some reason although I know it’s not a big deal. I tend to get caught up in really deep questions that can not be answered and they depress me quite a bit. What happens when we die? is a question I think about a lot. I know I should enjoy my time I have now but it’s hard not to think about. I grew up in the church and I would call my self religious but I have grown skeptical of religion in the past few years. I am really enjoying my life right now but life should be a lot more than textbooks and this computer in front of me. maybe I should travel…
