Please help me to calculate the average for this betting odds question!?
Not sure if any of you have ever used Betfair - they use a decimal system for placing bets (e.g. I bet £10 at odds of 3.0. If player wins, I get £30 and this includes my stake ... 3.0 is the same as 2/1 using the fractional betting system).
I have placed the following bets during an in-play beting situation on a tennis match:
£20 @ 2.5 (Decimal Odds)
£25 @ 3.7
£10 @ 9.8
What is the average decimal odds I have received on my cumulative bet of £55?
£20 @ 2.5 , 20 x 2.5 = 50
£25 @ 3.7 , 25 x 3.7 = 92.5
£10 @ 9.8 , 10 x 9.8 = 98
50 + 92.5 + 98 = 240.5
240.5 / 55 = 4.37
£55 @ 4.37 Ans.
