when serving...what grip(continental, eastern, semi- western, etc...) am I suppose to use?
Also, how am i suppose to hit the ball when serving?
you can use any of those grips, though the continental was recomended to me.
How you hit the ball depends on how you want the ball to spin.
topspin: Throw the ball as if it were to land on your head and brush up the back of the ball.
slice: Throw it to the right and try to brush the right(for righties)
it should get some topspin if you throw it enough to the right.
power: throw it more in front, and use your legs to hit more down on it.

I use eastern forehand grip for forehand and continental for volleys. I have been using these grips since I was a kid
