Information and tips about tennis?

I am entering 9th grade, and I signed up for tennis. I knew absolutely NOTHING about it, and I have been playing with a couple friends and my brother for the past month and a half. One guy has been helping me learn, and so far I know forehands and backhands pretty well, but I still hit them inaccurately sometimes, and even miss them completely, how can I fix that? Also, can anybody show me some videos on footwork, technique, and other strokes? And what are some good rackets/shoes?

I also started playing tennis just before I entered 9th grade. I've been playing for 5 years now and I'm on a college team. As far as hitting your forehands and backhands more accurately, the best advice I can give you is practice, practice, practice. The more you get out and hit, the more you will develop your strokes and timing. One big thing for beginning players to remember is to always follow through on your forehands and backhands and not stop your racket as soon as you make contact with the ball. If you make that a habit at the very beginning, you'll save yourself a lot of time as you develop as a player. It might sound a bit cliche, but as far as missing the ball completely or being inaccurate, always keep your eye on the ball. As you develop, you will get better with those things. It just takes a lot of practice.
As far as rackets, I played with the Prince O3 Hybrid Shark for 4 years and it was a great racket. A lot of high school players use it. It's great for all types of hitting. As far as shoes, Adidas has good court shoes but you just have to stick to ones with good ankle support. I had one pair that I rolled my ankles in quite a few times but I bought a different and better pair and never had a problem again.
I hope this helped! :)

Tennis Essentials: The Forehand and Backhand

Who Thinks Fedex can win over Tsonga and Murray if he play the way he played against Nalbandian at Basel 2008?

I mean that was a remarkable match and one of the best match he ever played , on that day Federer backhand and Forehand were Magnificent and his serves were incredible. he played very smoothly, aggresively , overall with sheer domination.
So if he could bring his Great Tennis against Tsonga and Murray, can he able to win it? but i never underestimate Tsonga or Murray both are dangerous, Tsonga has some terrific game and We all know Murray can use his defensive technique so effectively. so what do you think

Of course he can. Murray is an over achiever who has never achieved the big one!
Tsonga will be a crap match, if Fed is on his game, there is no way he can even hang with him.
5:30 a.m. CST:Can you say BEAT DOWN...thumbs down me idiots...Tsonga got spanked.
