I am not a medical professional. I have listed below my knowledge of tennis elbow which may or may not be what you are suffering. I would suggest that you seek medical attention and receive a proper diagnosis and treatment.
Overview: Tennis elbow is an inflammation, soreness, or pain on the outside (lateral) side of the upper arm near the elbow. There may be a partial tear of the tendon fibers, which connect muscle to bone, at or near their point of origin on the outside of the elbow. Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, the most common injury patients seeking medical attention for elbow pain. Exactly what causes tennis elbow is unknown, but it is thought to be due to small tears of the tendons that attach forearm muscles to the arm bone at the elbow joint. The muscle group involved, the wrist extensors, function to cock the wrist back. Specifically, the ex-tensor carpi radialis brevis has been implicated in causing the symptoms of tennis elbow. Tennis Elbow is also known as, shooter's elbow or archer's elbow.
Symptoms: Elbow pain that gradually worsens. Pain radiating from the outside the elbow to the forearm and back of the hand when grasping or twisting or weak grasp. Patients with tennis elbow syndrome experience pain on the outside of the elbow that is worsened by grasping objects and cocking back the wrist. The pain associated with tennis elbow usually has a gradual onset, but it may also come on suddenly. Most patients with tennis elbow are between the ages of 35 and 65 years old, and it affects about an equal number of men and women. Tennis elbow occurs in the dominant arm in about 75% of patients. Anyone can be affected, tennis elbow is most commonly seen in two groups of people: People who work with their hands are at greater risk of developing tennis elbow. Jobs that may lead to tennis elbow include plumbers, painters, gardeners, and carpenters. Sports participants, especially racquet sport players, are prone to developing tennis elbow. About a third of regular tennis players experience tennis elbow at some point in their careers. In addition to racquet sports, tennis elbow is seen in golfers, fencers, and other sports participants.
Treatment: Non steroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, naproxen. Using a heating pad applied to the site, try soaking in salts for sprains and warm water. Local injection of cortisone and an numbing medicine orPhysical therapy. Pulsed ultrasound breaks up scar tissue, promote healing, and increase blood flow in the area using a splint to keep the forearm and elbow still for 2 to 3 weeks avoid carrying items on this arm, let the elbow rest. To prevent the injury from happening again, a splint may be worn during activities that aggravate the condition. Limit certain activities. If the pain persists despite non-surgical treatments, surgery may be necessary.
Special Test to Diagnose: X-rays of patients who have the diagnosis of tennis elbow are normal. Other tests, likeEMG, sometimes conducted if there is confusion about the diagnosis.
Causes: Causes of pain over the outside of the elbow include instability of the joint, elbow arthritis, and radial tunnel syndrome. Symptoms of these conditions are usually distinct, but in some cases they can be confusing. This injury is due to repeated motions of the wrist or forearm. The injury is typically associated with tennis playing, hence the name "tennis elbow." However, any activity that involves repetitive twisting of the wrist (like using a screwdriver) can lead to this condition.
Tests & diagnosis: The diagnosis is made based on signs and symptoms, since x-rays are usually normal. Often there will be pain or tenderness when the tendon is gently pressed near where it attaches to the upper arm bone, over the outside of the elbow. There is also pain near the elbow when the wrist is extended (bent backwards, like revving a motorcycle engine) against resistance.
Prognosis: Most improve with non-surgical treatment. The majority of those who do have surgery show an improvement in symptoms.
Prevention: Maintain good strength flexibility in the arm muscles or avoid repetitive motions. Rest the elbow when flexion and extension (bending and straightening) are painful. An ice pack applied to the outside of the elbow after repetitive motion may help alleviate symptoms.
When do I need to see the doctor for tennis elbow? Bring the following symptoms to your doctor's attention: Inability to carry objects or use your arm, pain that occurs at night or while resting, pain that persists beyond a few days, Inability to straighten or flex your arm, swelling or significant bruising around the joint or arm, any other unusual symptoms.

Tennis Elbow Treatment and Exercise Program - Part 1
Tennis elbow?
Some years back, my husband had a steroid injection for Tennis Elbow. Apparently his father had the same. Both found this to be a permanent cure. My mother had 2 steroid injections for Tennis Elbow but despite relief for a while, the symptoms returned and she had to have a tendon release operation. It completely freed her from pain but affected her fine manual dexterity. Recently, I got tennis elbow and had a steroid injection. My doctor said I had a choice of that or an operation. The injection eased the symptoms, but now they are gradually coming back. I don't want a tendon release operation if it affects my manual dexterity as I am a touch-typist and a pianist. My doctor said I can only have one more injection then the only choice is an operation. Snould I put up with the mild pain and delay my second chance of an injection until absolutely necessary?
Surgery is the last option and then is either, better or worse or no difference. Try Glucosimine, Chrondrotan and MSM before that, experiment with simple therapies and find what works for you. I had the same thing and find MSM is good and I like arnica montana. Good luck but hold off on surgery.
