I mean like all my friends think in tennis you just hit a ball around. But I'm a major tennis player and tennis fan. I know that it takes tons of practice to get really good.

because most people who do not like tennis cannot play tennis..
and they lack the skill, cordination, shot perfection, and patience it takes to really play the game

tennis takes power and finese...
sports that are more popular like football, basebal they do not take as much skill leveal in these regards

Nadal Leg Injury Forces Him To Skip Dubai Tennis Tournament

Roddick Tennis Racquet

Choosing between these 3 Racquets?

It's almost the tennis season and I am planning to switch racquets. I currently have 2 Wilson K Six One 95 18x20's and I'm looking for a racquet that will give more spin. Two that have caught my eye are the Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex and the Pure Drive Roddick Cortex. What are the advantages and disadvantages of switching racquets?

Any other racquet suggestions are also great

if you want a racquet to put more bite into the ball, try to get racquets with a more open string pattern like 16x18. if you dislike the wilson k6.1 16x18 and you have to make a choice between the babolat's, i would go with the roddick pure drive. however, the pure drive or the aeropro are lighter racquets than the wilson ones and that will affect your play, so you will take a bit of time to get used to.

all in all, i think it wouldn't be that bad, however, the babolat racquets are more powerful and "loose" in terms of control so you might be frustrated with them. demo those racquets from a shop or from friends before switching. if you dislike the 18x20's just because it doesn't produce as much spin, then just buy strings that give your ball more bite, or switch grips to semi-western or full western--it was a pain for me to sell and buy different racquets if you don't mind buying new ones then yeah, go for the pure drive, it is more popular than the aero-pro at my university

Okay, my tennis racquet just broke, and I have about 200 dollars to spend on a new one. I prefer racquets that have a good chunk of power, and some control as well. Recently, I tried my friends Andy Roddick's Babolat Pure Drive Plus, and it was a hell of a racquet.

I just want your suggestions if getting the Andy Roddick's Babolat Pure Drive Plus is the best option, or another option.

How to become pro tennis player?

My life's goal is to become a pro tennis player & someday win a grand slam. I'm willing to work my fingers to the bone but i want to know how good my chances are. I'm 14 a& attending a regular highschool so training is difficult. I've heard of IMG Nick Bollettieri but I'm not sure what exactly i need to do. Is it possible for me to accomplish this? What exactly do i need to do to get noticed? I'm a complete nobody and the best I've done so far is dominate my tennis team. What's the youngest age i can get to a grand slam? the oldest? I want to get there when i'm 17. Can i attend a regular highschool and become pro? When do most pros start training?

You could become pro by playing college tennis. If you play college tennis then you have a chance of being discovered by scouts and agents.

Atp Tennis- Djokovic Won Dubai Title For Second Consecutive Year

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic won his first title of the season and his second consecutive title in Dubai after beating the Russian Mikhail Youzhny 7-5, 5-7, 6-3. The final match was suspended on Saturday due to heavy rain with the score in favor of the Serb, 7-5, 2-0. The game was resumed on Sunday and Djokovic managed an uncomfortable victory in the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championship.

During the game, the defending champion and second seed in the tournament reached only 52% effectiveness in service and added 5 aces. Youzhny broke Djokovic's service five times.

During the first part of the final on Saturday, Djokovic played with consistency and his service was very effective. He won the first set 7-5. In the second set, Djokovic continued his game, making several great strokes and getting ahead 2-0. But heavy rain forced the match to an end, to be continued the next day.

In the resumed game on Sunday, Djokovic looked nervous and struggled to maintain his service. Youzhny, on the other hand, began by winning a wild second set, breaking Djokovic's serve five times in that set alone. The Serb suffered, trying to maintain his serve, and on Sunday alone made 12 double faults. Youzhny took the second set 7-5.

In the third, Djokovic's nightmare looked about to repeat itself when the Russian, ranked 15th in the world and seventh favorite, recovered with 3-3 after initially losing 0-3. But this time Djokovic responded, winning the next three games to close out the match with a 6-3.

The final, which between the two days lasted 3 hours and 21 minutes, illustrated the irregularity of Djokovic's game. The fluctuations were present throughout the tournament, but they didn't prevent the Serb from winning the seventeenth title of his career and the first of the year.

This triumph also allowed him to defend a title for the first time.

"This title means the whole world to me. Of course there are always people who are saying I can't do it. But I'm playing for myself, and this is another success in my career that I wasn't able to make in the last two years. But now, finally, I did it, and it's a big relief. So in the future I just hope I'll make a couple more of those," stated Djokovic.

The loss in the final was Youzhny's second in Dubai; in 2007, he lost against Federer. It's also his second tournament final of the year that ended in defeat, as in Rotterdam he was beat by the Swede, Robin Soderling.

Youzhny couldn't hide his frustration but maintained his composure.

"I'm disappointed because I lost, but I'm happy because it was a good level of game," Youzhny said.
