Junior Tennis Racquets
Tennis racquet choosing help?
Ok so I'm a Varsity tennis player. Junior. Male. I wouldn't describe myself as good; but I'm not bad either. My opponents say I have power-ful shots, but I never think so. I just feel like I need to get more power.
I've been using a Babolat PureDrive 107 for 2 years, and I've gotten pretty used to it. I'm not sure if I should stick to power racquets or transition into something new.. I have money to spare. Something around $200 would be fine.
Any help would be appreciated.
I use the Babolat Pure Drive GT and I have to say I'm happy with it but I'm thinking of demoing the Pure Drive Roddick for more weight. Anyways...
If you want to control those powerful shots you might want to get the regular Pure Drive or try the Pure Drive Roddick, if you are happy with the line.
If you really aren't sure you can always demo racquets for free. Just pay shipping. I would recommend Tennis Warehouse. *

Tennis For Children – Make Learning Fun
Are you going to coach those juniors in how to play tennis? Tennis is an excellent game providing many educational benefits as well as social and physical aspects to children. Fitness is improved, social skills are improved and they are learning a new ability all in the one process. You do however have to make sure that the coaching you offer is fun and entertaining to the children as well as teaching them the fundamentals of the game. You want them to enjoy the game and continue to play so some motivation will be required and there are a few things you can try out to keep those tennis players interested in the sport.
It is important to be upbeat and positive with the children, all the way through the learning process. You can not expect them to learn everything from day one and of course some will be naturals whereas there are others who will have to work much harder to play the game. You can accomplish the learning process through the use of games as well as just formal instruction so try to be creative and give the children a fun time while they are getting started. You want them coming back after all.
Depending on the age of your pupils you may want to start out using some specialized equipment for their training. Perhaps lower the nets so it is initially much easier for them to see their success when they are hitting the ball. Obtain some lighter tennis racquets that they can hold easily and perhaps softer tennis balls so that if there are cases where they are hit there is less likely chance for damage. When they get older, or further on in the training session you can introduce them to the standard sized equipment and play or practice with correct net heights.
Another important part of the training process, with adults and children, is that you demonstrate what it is you are teaching them. Many people learn in different ways so a verbal instruction may not be enough and a visual instruction or demonstration will only reinforce the task you want them to complete. With children it is common that they will learn more from watching a skill initially and then having the opportunity to copy it.
Try using some special target system for the children to focus on when you are going through the process of teaching them how to use the racquet to place their shots. Often with children they will swing hard but with no direction so use props to get them focusing on where they will be placing the ball. You will find that starting out slowly with this portion of your training is the better option as they will focus more on where they are placing rather than how far out of the court they can hit the ball! You want them to learn the control that they have with ball and racquet and it is very often found that the use of targets in reducing the power behind shots is very effective.
Throughout the time you are teaching them make sure you are using the correct terminology of all aspects of the game of tennis. Use the correct wording for all areas on the tennis court when you are out practicing. When you are requesting them to do something for you use the words relating to the tennis court to get them to move to the areas you want or where you want them to place the ball. This kind of continued verbal use of the same terminology helps to allow the information sink in to the children much more quickly. This also is the case for adults.
Be positive and encouraging and make the learning process fun. The game of tennis for children can be a great sport in their future and something they can do for recreation throughout the years so giving this insight into the game of tennis from an early age can be a great benefit to them.

The Evolution of Garage Organizers
Eons ago when the first garages were built, it was with the intention of storing wagons, horses and tack and was called a barn. People did not horde a lot of stuff so they did not have a lot of need for storage. Those who were wealthy and had stuff, had big houses and servants to worry about where to put it all. With the advent of the modern age and the invention of the automobile, the modern garage was born. But the modern garage wasn’t just used for cars. Slowly the modern generation became pack rats, after all, there is just so much neat stuff that we need! With the computer age, not only were there a lot of advances in technology, but we have also become a society that loves our recreation and new forms of recreation are constantly being invented. We also have a lot of hobbies, from wood and metal working to landscaping and gardening. So what do we do with all this stuff? We put it in our garages and before we know it, our cars do not fit.
At first, the solution in garage organizers was shelves, and then cabinets. But lets face it, many things in our garage do not fit well on shelves and cabinets. Then in 1985, Racor came along and started to come up with innovative solutions to help store the hard to store items. Of course, it did not take long for other companies to follow.
So, what do you have to store? And what are your storage options?
- Balls and bats - for these you can find some great baskets that hang on the wall or stand on the floor, that include hooks and shelves for bats, gloves and shoes. These garage organizers also work great for roller blades and accessories.
- Bikes take up a lot of room in a garage, and the storage options are many. You can hang bikes solo or multiples, by their wheels or horizontally by the top tube. This is great, because anybody who has kids, has bikes!

- Golf clubs - If you are a solo player,then you can just use a basic hook, but if you have multiple bags, then you can find garage organizers that will hold both bags plus your shoes.
- Ladders - You can get large hooks to hang your ladder upright, or larger units that will hang your ladder plus more horizontally.

You can get a garden tool rack that will hold multiple large tools that also includes a small shelf and basket for many of your smaller gardening items. - Skis and snowboards - These are nice to store during the summer but also keep accessible for the winter. There are a variety of racks available, for one pair of skis to many pairs. Most also include hooks for poles and some also have shelves for boots. There are also some great options for snowboards to store them flat against the wall that have adjusting arms so that it also works for skateboards and wake boards.
- Tennis and other racquet sports - for this you can find a great system that allows you to hang your rackets and store you balls as well.
- Tools - many of the hooks that work for lawn and garden, also work for tools. You can also find smaller containers that can be hung and work great for nuts and bolts etc. as well as baskets for cans, rags or whatever.
