New York Times - Vintage Book - What's it worth?

So I've got an authentic N.Y times vintage book from November 28, 1948.

It's a huge green book and it all seems to be the newspaper from one specific day. What can this be worth? It's in decent condition.

Probably the best known of the local bodegas José L. Ferrer, was founded in 1931, and has built a solid reputation for consistently turning out wines from their oak barrels in the subterranean wine cellars.

The Bodega José L. Ferrer can be visited by groups of 5 to 25 people, a reservation in advance is necessary. The price for a guided tour and wine tasting is € 5,50 per person.

• Bodegas Crestatx

Bodegas Crestatx is a vineyard  over 100 years old. Its roots originate from 1898 in the agricultural town of Sa Pobla, in the town with the most agricultural activity and tradition in Mallorca.

The peculiar thing is that Bodegas Crestatx is not only a wine cellar:  it is also a museum. Several machines from the early years of the 19th century have been kept. Old presses, wooden carts, old wine boxes, filter machines, label machines, wine-pumps, machines for the corking-process, etc.

• Formatges S'Atalaia: handmade cheese

The traditional production of goat and sheep cheese in Formatges S'Atalaia dates back to the 15th century and is still maintained today. You can visit the factory and try the cheese.

A totally natural product is made in this finca where the animals feed on the fertile fields of Llucmajor and the cheese is produced traditionally from  milk  obtained on the same day. Taste the difference.

How much is my doll worth?

I have a wonderful barbie-mattel straight leg teen-age fashion model,blonde,bubble-cut doll.How much is she worth?She was made in '61 with 99% of her finger/toe polish on,and all of her make-up on which hasn't been touched up.She comes in her orig. box,swimsuit,and pedestal;with her only flaw being she has green residue around her ears.

To re-cap,how much is she worth?Only flaw is green residue around her ears.

I will suggest that you visit this site www.dollreference.com it a wonderful site for id of your doll please type in, barbie and you will have several pages of original Barbie and their marks and exactly what it means, you are dealing with a number two barbie to number six. They made bodies that they used for years with the same numbers. It is going to be the way the eyes are painted and other face features plus the numbers on the butt of the doll. Lots of times on ebay the seller does not really know the correct id of the doll. plus as a seller of only dolls on the internet many times we do find missed marked dolls and they become a great buy for a collector.

With the sells of Barbies and other dolls with the economy the prices are at a very low point so its a buyers market. So I would not worry about the value of your doll at this point. Plus i would not sell her either. I have several number two Barbies with full wardrobes, plus others and I have been waiting for the prices to rise before I move them to a new home or collector.

You can remove the green from the ears I would do that because it will only get worse, sometimes the lips will bleed as well, but this is all repairable.

There is a great book on Barbie repair that is just for these dolls I would look for it on ebay or on http://www.abebooks.com. I had the book that came in for sale in a collection. I was an idiot to sell that book.

The value of the doll in today's market may not be the same value in tomorrows market. Sit on the doll for a while.

The model number is E6354 and it is in the original wood table/encasement.

I am not familar with that model but a lot of sewing machines were made in Japan after WW2 up until the 70s. Many were rebadged for department stores but similar to each other in operation. Easy to find in thrift stores and garage sales for $5 - $40. Value usually depends on condition and completeness. If yours is an older metal one, it probably fits this scenario. I recommend you find a manual and give it a good oiling, it will probably still work just fine. Look for a manual at one of these places:

As people are waiting for "them" to make biofuel available as a source of energy there are many of us who have been using forest biofuel to heat our homes for generations. This biofuel is sold on the free market without government subsidies or a need for more research and development.

Wood can be made into many biofuel products like methane, alcohol, or diesel and it can be burned directly to power electric generators to produce electricity. All of these are expensive and energy intensive. After refining wood into these biofuels the cost and energy used has not made wood biofuel a viable source of energy. The exception to that is burning wood to generate electricity which has experienced some commercial success.

What people often overlook is a form of wood biofuel that requires very little or no processing and that is wood as a heating fuel. While people are waiting for biofuel they are still using fossil fuels to heat their homes when they could switch today to an economically proven biofuel heat source which is to burn wood.

Since there is little or no processing required, direct heating with wood is more efficient than turning wood into another fuel such as diesel or electricity. The raw material is directly converted to the desired product which is heat.

The most basic form of wood biofuel is simple firewood for wood stoves and fireplaces. This is a very desirable form of energy for many homes but it's not for everyone. Burning firewood does have some disadvantages such as wood handling, it can be messy and can produce smoke. Although modern wood stoves have come a long way in reducing emissions and efficiency. Modern wood stoves can burn with no visible smoke. Burning firewood is not as convenient as other heat sources since you have to continually feed fuel into the fire.

The alternative to fireplaces and firewood stoves is wood pellet stoves. Wood pellets require more processing but pellet stoves are more efficient than firewood stoves so it makes up for the difference. A pellet stove combines the use of renewable biofuel with the convenience of traditional electric, gas or oil heating systems.

Pellet stoves have automatic fuel feeding systems and are thermostatically controlled. Wood pellets are available today and have been proven as a heat source that is competitive and can even cost less than fossil fuels.

Both firewood and wood pellets are available as a practical source of forest biofuel that you can start using today. Which one you choose depends on your situation and preferences.

I have a bottle of Vintage Port 1981 which was bottled to commemorate the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

To start with you do NOT have a bottle of Port, and I don't care whats on the label when I say this.

You have a "Port Style" fortified wine.

Port has to come from Portugal, specifically the Duoro valley, not South Australia.

As it's not a proper Port I can't see it being very valuable outside Australia.

A GOOGLE search of +port +peter +lehmann +1981 +charles +diana gives a list price of A$45.

That is retail - You would get at least 20% less than that trying to sell it privately.
