Tattoo Half Sleeve Help!!!?

I have a tattoo ^^^ It's a flag with on a cross. Rather big. My arms were a lot bigger when I got it originally. Stopped lifting weights so I think a half sleeve will blend it more and make the size less noticeable. In the pic above it shows an italian flag. I'm actually getting it changed to an American flag by my artist. How could I create a sleeve out of this? Ideas on what to include? Like last name or something like that.?
Heres just a suggestion. Im doing a full sleeve, well actually a whole body lol...but back to where i was, the guy im doing the sleeve for has something similar so what i have done is put an armband just below the elbow and im intergrating NZ (new zealand) tribal designs behind the original tattoo that joins onto the arm band. Tribal designs are awesome and look fantastic and blend with just about anything
