that’s too bad about dick’s. out of curiousity where do you live? because if you live in or near a major city, chances are there’s a tennis store within your area. in terms of the head t1, i can’t say much about this racquet because i’ve never played with it (it’s been years since i’ve played with a head-heavy racquet). in any case, i think you should really steer clear of head-heavy racquets. because they’re not very customizable. and by customizable i mean having the ability to change the balance of the racquet. with a head-light racquet, you can add lead tape to the head to give it more weight which inevitably gives you more of a head-heavy balance. if you’re really keen on getting some demos, you can start with these: 1. wilson: kblade 98 or blx pro open 2. babolat: aeropro drive 3. head: prestige midplus or radical midplus 4. yonex: rdis 100 midplus (note that the previous generation is called the rds 001 midplus, which tennis warehouse is selling for $89) 5. wilson blx six.one tour 90 – just for kicks. this is the current incarnation of federer’s racquet. see how you stack up to him. those are the brands i’ve had experience playing with. and with the exception of the yonex, they shouldn’t be too difficult to find at sporting goods stores. other redditors may have other suggestions.
