Racquet String Reel
Do different tennis strings really make a difference?
Do different strings on tennis racquets make a substantial difference? I've been using Eagnas Perfect Spin because it came with my stringing machine and was considering switching to another string. I still have like 330ft left in the reel so I'm wondering if it's worth the $$ to switch to something like Babolat pro hurricane.
Yes, different strings play very differently. String and tension preferences tend to change periodically. You can't expect to find that one tension with that one string and use that forever. As your abilities change, so will the string setup that best compliments your game.
It never hurts to try something different, especially if you've used the same thing for quite some time. But just buy single sets until you find something you like well enough to get a full reel of. And if you still like your Perfect Spin, just use that up, and then you'll have to find something else.
I would not jump to Pro Hurricane, though. It's a durable polyester string. Polys aren't known for feel or comfort. I would suggest starting with something more middle of the road, like a standard synthetic gut string. Then decide what you do and don't like about it, and that can help lead to the next string you try. And to complicate things even more, you can always create a hybrid set to combine string traits.
You're lucky, though. You don't have to pay for the stringing each time, just the strings. That makes string testing much cheaper.

What strings to use for arm injury?
I use babolat pure drive with 16 gauge hurricane pro. This is extremely burdensome on my arm and about 1/2 a year into using it i developed arm pain (maybe tendinitis) every time i play more frequently.
I've tried recovery and it just comes back. I think its time to rethink my gear.
At my local tennis facility they gave me some wilson sensation 17 gauge to try (not the best thing imo but it was free and i couldn't turn hospitality). I'm thinking of stringing a whole racquet with that to see if its just the fact that i'm using a whole poly face thats doing the damage.
However, i wana try hybrid in the end.
Can somebody suggest some combinations?
Ideally i wana still use my 16 gauge hurricane cause i still have a reel of it. perhaps use some Vs. with it. (any cheaper alternative w/ not much difference in effect)
In the end however i just wana rid my arm pain without handicapping my playing.
Clearly, Natural Gut in the mains is the way to go. Hurricane Pro and Luxilon Big Banger are notorious for causing tennis elbow and other arm problems. The problem with them is that they do NOT break, and after a few weeks get really stiff. Its even worse when players try to use high string tension with them. Throw in Natural Gut in the mains. They'll break sooner, but better them, than your tennis game.
