What do you call the thing where a player hits the ball with the side of the racket?

You know, it's when the player is bouncing the ball with the racket, but they don't do it with the face of the head, they hit it off the side (the frame). I see some tennis player do it.

Is that a training to improve accuracy or is it just a habit?
[I'm training to do that right now] ;-P
Can I improve my accuracy with this?

Thanks in advance!

When the player bounces the ball with the frame, it's called showing off and when the player does it during a point, it's called shanking.

All About Mafia Wars Rackets

The future of the game is to use Mafia Wars rackets as a substitute for properties. Those who started the game before the fall of 2009 have the old properties feature while newer players have rackets. It appears that those with properties will be given an incentive to trade them in but how the transition will actually happen is unknown at the time of this writing. The new system is not meeting with much excitement, especially from players who have played under the properties system. There is also some complaints about how Zynga delivered the new system.

What is the new Mafia Wars rackets system? The new system is similar in principle to the harvesting system used in Farmville. Now instead of leaving your properties to make you millions while you sleep you have to come back to the game periodically in order to collect on your rackets.

In Mafia Wars you have to “shake down” a racket and then collect your reward when the specific time has passed. It is important that you return to collect on the shake down because the payout could be lost. Although you are told how long the racket will take to shake down, you are not notified how long you have to return and collect. The instructions in the game simply say that you lose the profit "if you don't return promptly".

In order to shake down a racket you have to have sufficient influence. The influence skill regenerates one point per hour and does not reload when you level up.

Under the rackets tab you will find a variety of different rackets and a variety of tabs, each with more rackets. Cash, attack, defense and job rackets make up the different types. You will receive the listed cash or boost when you shake down each racket.

You will also get the influence back that you used when you began the shake down which you can use to do another one. You can receive back a total of 125% of your maximum influence level. The influence you used can be lost if you are too slow at returning to collect. Additionally, you will lose any take and other benefits from the shake down.

Like jobs, rackets also have mastery levels. Additional rackets are made available to you when you master a racket. Although rackets pay out very little in the beginning, as you master them the payout goes up.

For those coming from the properties version of the game this may seem really bleak, but the payout can get quite high as soon as you master the racket levels.

  • Don:

I picked up the Rocket Dog, their newer IPA, a CSB (Crotch Sniffing Beer)(everything is dog related) it is their Extra Special Bitter, and a Dogzilla, their take on a Black IPA, and in my book the best I've had to date of the style. So that should hold us over for the first hour…I guess we'll have to take a run to Brewforia. And unlike Oskar Blues, I'm pretty sure they won't pull out of their home state!
