Becoming a teacher, pros and cons...headaches maybe !?
I am currently doing nursing! but wow! I think I got a C in my anatomy lecture and I WORKED HARD!. No universities will accept undergrad students with C's in nursing programs so I'd have to take the etire class again..oh and chemistry to..I'm begining to think the science is not my Forte. So...
I was thinking of switching majors, I wanted somthing involving psychology, communication and prestiege. So I thought of becoming a teacher. Not sure if I'd like to do elementary, middle or high school. Before I decide I'd like some advice on the pay, stability, and benefits.
What is the life of a teacher really like. How is the starting pay in a city like Miami. Do they get paid in the summers, and how hectic is teaching really?
Any information will help tremendously, please respond if you have experience as a teacher!
Teaching is a vocation, a calling. You have to have a genuine love for children ( elementary). It entails a lot of patience,commitment. There are times when you's think you are not paid fairly well. You prepare lesson plans, record books, check a pile of incomprehensive book reports, deal with children of diverse personalities, parents who are sometimes unreasonable. Well... if you are ready for these, then teaching is for you!
I was a teacher for more than 20 years and never regretted a single moment of being one.
