Nauseating Foot Oder?
My nephew, who is 10, has horrific foot oder. My sister has tried everything - strong soaps like Lava, foot sprays, shoe inserts like Oder Eaters, sprinkling baking soda in his shoes - everything. Nothing helps. When he takes his shoes off, he will literally run you out of a room. And sandles (as opposed to closed shoes) are no better. My sister usually buys him a new pair of shoes once a month because his old ones are so foul smelling.
What else can be done? Is there any kind of medication that can help with this? And what causes extreme foot oder?
I have been told by a pediatric RN friend of mine that it can be hereditary. She just had a baby and the baby's feet stink. Her husband has chronic foot odor, too. I'm assuming by the fact that both her husband AND her baby daughter's feet both continue to omit odor that there's probably little you can do other than to wash your nephew's feet often.
