What is the best, thinnest, and most versatile athletic ankle brace?
I got a 2nd degree inverted ankle sprain from falling off of a 20' boulder. It's been a month and I'm ready to get back to climbing. So I need a VERY thin yet very durable ankle brace with dynamic movement. Something that will fit into a rock shoe. I have heard that bioskin was really good material, and neoprene is okay. Any suggestions?

Neoprene is good. Any Aircast or DonJoy is a GREAT brace
BioSkin is good also, but if you are looking for an athletic, I'd go with Aircast or DonJoy. Good Luck and God Bless

What is the best ankle brace for a ruptured Achilles tendon?
Is neoprene the best? Tendon healed but was then aggravated.
A ruptured Achilles tendon is nothing to mess around with as it can cause you problems walking and running in the future. See a doctor and based on the extent and type of injury they can recommend a brace for you. Usually a partially torn one will heal with rest and time but a completly ruptured one will not allow you to flex or roll your foot to walk and they usually have to go in and surgically try to repair it.

you've probably still got a lot of tissue damage that will cause swelling, so you'll need to adjust the brace a couple of times throughout the day – to allow for the swelling that you're getting. as the injury heals – you'll have less swelling and less need to make adjustments. you don't mention the specific type of brace, so I've based this advice on the lace up ankle braces which have cross straps for stability. If you're using an elasticised ankle support which just pulls on over the foot – you may need to use a larger size.
I wore a rigid lace up ankle brace for a long time after a grade IV ankle sprain and had to make regular adjustments to prevent excessive tightness due to swelling. If you're going to wear socks under the brace, use thin cotton socks rather than thicker ones – as thick ones will affect achieving a firm fit without a compression effect.
