Monster Comfort
If 9/11 hadn't happened would America be the "monster" that it is perceived to be by the world?
I don't find much comfort in Googling this question.. Is it that our media is so entrenched with the Bush Policy/agenda that it seems from the outside, our whole country is on the same page ? or ...are we being lumped together for our lack of control over a reckless and villainous Administration ?
We are supposed to be resposible for our leadership right ? and at 37% the Bush folks aint exactly winning any contests.. so why are we so hated now ?

Im pretty sure that had the invasion of the Middle East not happened America (and the UK) would not be seen as the monsters they are today.
I think most people realise that it isnt Americans in general that are monsters, just the Administration.

My sister thinks I'm a monster...?
My sister told me just today me that I've changed into a monster, and that she hates me, and she'll never want to turn out like I did. Then she went on to say that she hates me for what I put our dad through, and what I put my other two sisters through. Then she began crying, and I tried to comfort her, but she hit me in the chest and ran to her room, crying. I don't know, really, what to say or do, or if I should do anything. What do I do...? What do I say to her...?
I think she's afraid of you, to be completely honest. The things you did would scare anybody in your immediate family. I'd say it's pretty normal for her to feel that way. Now, I'd wait a few hours for her to settle down, and then go ask her if she wants to talk. If she does, ask her calmly what she meant when she said the things she did. If she doesn't, I would suggest asking one of your other sisters or your father to talk to her on your behalf. They can relay messages to you. Just try your best to talk to her, and have a conversation with her, and discuss the things she said and the things you did, and how you two can work things out. She can't stay mad at you for ever. She's your sister, and you're family, and until you move out, she's going to have to live with you, and you two are going to have to figure things out. Good luck, buddy.

Yes, it is faulty reasoning. There is zero evidence that anything supernatural exists, much less any evidence that anything that exists owes its existence to the supernatural.
I'd also like to clarify something since some people seem to have trouble understanding it when the fact is brought to their attention. When I say that there is "zero evidence" that anything supernatural exists, what I mean by that is: there is zero evidence. None. At all. Anywhere. Zero.
People who put down others do it because they lack self confidence. Just like in school, the kids who tease others do so to make someone else look bad so no one will notice them and tease them. An adult male who is insulting his step daughter then commenting on her body is immature and inconsiderate, or clueless about how a real man behaves. Since he is your mother's husband, you'll need to be respectful toward him. Try to do as you're asked when it comes to helping around the house, don't smart mouth him and don't get in a situation where you are alone with him if at all possible.
