Locker Tennis
Is it bad to wear compression shorts hours before I do any rigorous running/training?
We're conditioning heavily for tennis and we do miles of running and I can't change clothes beforehand because the lockers are closed after school. So I put them on before I go to school,

What to bring to first day of college?!?
I start college tomorrow and Ive heard that the first day is mostly getting the know the teacher, list of required items, and getting firmilar with what the year will be like in that class.
Do you think I should go ahead and bring my textbooks?
I'm considering putting all my textbooks in my car (I havent got a locker yet) and taking my first book to class and seeing how it goes from there..good idea?
& also..I have aerobics for the first time tomorrow..do you think we'll jump right into that too..should I go ahead and bring workout clothes and tennis shoes?

What happens the first day of class depends entirely on the college and the professor. In some cases, you're right, the first day is mostly organizational, and the professor might not even keep you the entire class period. In other cases, the professor posts the syllabus on line and expects his/her students to have downloaded it and start preparing for class before the first class starts (there may be homework &/or reading assignments due in advance so you can just jump right in).
At a minimum, you should look through your textbooks tonight so you have a basic understanding of what the course will cover and so it will be less stressful tomorrow if s/he does expect you to get started right away. I wouldn't mark in them though until you were sure you needed them so you could take them back if you have to.
I would take the textbooks to class as well as ample writing paper, pens/pencils, and depending on the course a calculator. It is better to have these things and not need them, then need them and not have them.
Whether it is fair / appropriate or not, part of your grade may sometimes be based upon the professor's perception of your participation and willingness to learn. Coming unprepared may count against you, particularly if you are on the border between a higher and lower grade and the professor needs to "find" a few extra points to give you.
If you are taking so many courses that going to each class prepared is an issue for any reason take two bags and carry one for the first half of the day, and switch during lunch.
Also, half of the class gets there on time, gets better seats, (which sometimes can be really important) and has a few moments to settle in before the class starts. The other half just shows up and sits down. I’d recommend for your first day of college, trying to be in the first group.
