Time for a new raquet?

I have been using a liquidmetal instinct for about 1 1/2 years. I have tried the new version of it and I don't like it at all. Even though I buy new racquets every 4 months. I am basically wondering if its bad to stay with a racquet that is around 3 or 4 years old.
edit - i absolutely love the raquet i have and i dont want a new racquet because i am playing bad. i was just wondering how often you would recommend search for a new type of racquet. or finally would you suggest just staying with the same racquet as long as you want until it doesnt fit you play anymore.
sorry, i was unclear when i said i buy a new racquet every 4 months. i meant that i replace the racquet i am currently using every 4 months.

I've been using the same two racquets for 5 years now, and my other racquet is about 8 years old. There's nothing wrong with using frames that are that old. Sure, over time a frame will lose some of its pop, but that takes a while. I haven't noticed anything even from my 8 year old racquet. I have tried out some of the newer racquets, and found ones I like. But, I won't spend the money on them because mine still work perfectly fine. I probably won't replace them until they break, or I absolutely need a change or racquet .
Also, you can still find plenty of brand new lm instincts, as well as some cheap, lightly used ones.

Also, new technology doesn't necessarily mean better. Many technologies don't really make much difference. Take the n-code for example. Wilson came out with the k-factor, and left their n-code technology behind. However, their PWS technology came out years ago, and remains on the newest models. That's how you know that a technology really makes a difference. Companies will be quick to discard something that doesn't really help.
