ladies tennis gloves

I think I had an allergic reaction but I don't no what to?

I was gardening this ladies garden and I decided to walk home instead of taking the bus. about half way home my hands started itching and started going puffy. When i got home they were actually hurting/itching and when i put water on them they were literally steaming. What happened?

I also want to add that I have had this allergic reaction before but it was not this bad, last time was at don bosco witch is this trampolene place with pool tables and table tennis, the time before that was at the gym and the time before that was on a playground at primary school, and some other times. I also no that it wasnt the gardening because I garden all the time and I was wearing heavy duty gloves.

Unless you happened to get stung by something.....which it doesn't sound like *(however, I have been stung and not realized it, so it IS possible)......I am going to guess....you may have a LATEX allergy.

4. CURRENT REACTION after WEARING HEAVY DUTY GLOVES.....

Each of these share a common denominator of LATEX.....not all latex is the same, and does this mean you will react to EVERY form of latex the same? NO....but, it does mean there IS A CHANCE of it getting worse with each reaction and there IS A CHANCE of you suddenly REACTING to a FORM of LATEX that you were fine with in the PAST....including FRUITS and VEGGIES that are RELATED to LATEX (remember....latex comes from a TREE....and there are pollens that can cause a cross sensitivity with certain foods--particularly fruits and veggies usually called ORAL FOOD ALLERGY SYNDROME , but they are currently trying to change the name to something like POLLEN-FOOD ALLERGY.

*Some of the foods that can be related to LATEX are.....(this is NOT a complete list):

* Avocado
* Banana
* Chestnut
* Potato
* Tomato
* Kiwi
* Pineapple
* Papaya
* Eggplant
* Melon
* Passion Fruit

Furthermore......there are many NON-food items that can contain LATEX.....surprisingly--LATEX PAINT.....does NOT pose a problem with latex allergies....that was a trick question when I was taking one of my MANY medic refresher exams.....LOL!! (however it is NOT recommended to be worn if you are allergic to it...as you CAN have a bad reaction anyhow).

Some of the other items that contain latex:
MEDICAL GLOVES---even with non-latex gloves available, many people do prefer the latex ones unless we are told that there is a latex allergy--as most medical offices DO contain latex in one form or another, even in a "latex free room".....(I myself was NOT able to wear the NITRILE gloves myself for many reasons.....and I am very picky of which latex gloves I could wear--I used to buy my own when my ambulance company got cheap and purchased ones that made me have an allergic reaction).(realize that EKG electrodes have LATEX in them---most of the time. that is why working on the ambulance, it was really NEVER a latex free enviroment....also, our stretcher was latex, as well as our blood pressure cuffs, our stethoscopes, and our EKG monitors/defib pads, our radio/siren console up front, some of our floors, and the list goes ON......not to mention, our BOOTS, and most people's SHOE SOLES......

**The following list highlights some (but not all) of the latex products you should avoid in the home:

* Rubber sink stoppers and sink mats
* Rubber or rubber-grip utensils
* Rubber electrical cords or water hoses
* Bath mats and floor rugs that have rubber backing
* Toothbrushes with rubber grips or handles
* Rubber tub toys
* Sanitary napkins (that contain rubber)
* Condoms/diaphragms
* Diapers that contain rubber
* Adult undergarments that contain rubber
* Waterproof bed pads containing rubber
* Undergarments, socks, and other clothing with elastic bands that contain rubber
* Adhesives such as glue, paste, art supplies, glue pens
* Older Barbie dolls and other dolls that are made of rubber
* Rubber bands, mouse and keyboard cords, desktop and chair pads, rubber stamps
* Mouse and wrist pads containing rubber
* Keyboards and calculators with rubber keys or switches
* Pens with comfort grip or any rubber coating
* Remote controllers for TVs or VCRs with rubber grips or keys
* Camera, telescope, or binocular eye pieces
* Bathing caps and elastic in bathing suits

I would HIGHLY suggest getting allergy tested by your doctor/ENT/ALLEGIST as soon as possible, but be for warned that allergy tests are NOT 100% accurate all the time. (and their INTERPRETATION can also be a factor.....one doctor can "read" the results ONE way, another doctor can "read" the results ANOTHER way......but, all in all, it can give you a GREAT baseline for what may be your primary allergies.)

Good luck to you, and again, get yourself tested, and see your doctor, as you may need to start carrying both BENEDRYL (the liquid IS the fastest acting.....during a severe reaction, for what you can purchase over the counter), as well as an EPI pen or TWIN - JECT epi system.

Mom's, you've seen dad get hit with the low blow. Have you ever been hit in the groin accidently or by a kid?

My wife was out back tanning on her back when our three year old wanted to go outside and play catch. So, we grabbed our gloves and a tennis ball for him to throw and catch with so it wouldn't hurt if he got hit. Well, we're doing pretty good and all of a sudden he catches it and pulls it out of his glove and underhand throws it as high as he can in the air. Well, unfortunately it reached it's peak at about 15 feet and started coming down. I thought it was going to be close to my wife, but not that close. Umm, we'll just say it landed on her pubic bone, lol. She was fine. But, the knees jerked up instantly and she said her, umm, we'll say, lips were on fire, haha. Just a funniest home video moment and that's all it was. Any other ladies ever get hit there? Let's hear it.

i accidentally hit that region on a dresser corner....lemme just say that...!@#$%^&*()(*&^%$#@!@#$%^ it F'n hurts. =(
