Taking a 2 year old and an Autistic 10 year old to Niagra Falls?
I'm terrfied, but will be on a group tour so have to go. Plus I refuse to keep my kids sheltered. I want them to experience life. Any ideas on how to be ultra safe there? How tall are the barriers between you and the falls. Should I have my autistic child wear sound proof head phones? Is it super loud there?
The rush of the water will be loud for an autistic child. Have you talked with the guidance counsellor or school nurse? doctor? One of them should be able to give you guidance. You are going to have your hands full w/ 2 children. Autistic children generally like rigid routine. They do not adapt well to change and Niagara Falls will definitely be a "change" barriers not withstanding. Is there any way you could have another adult go along to take care of the 2 year old leaving you free to manage the 10 year old?
