Head Tennis Racquets Swing Style

Tennis racquet for my style of play?
I have a Head oversized racquet I bought from someone recently because I am just starting out at tennis. I've been playing quite a bit and i think i want a racquet where i can swing harder. This racquet seems out of control. I want one where i can swing relatively hard and it wont fly out of the court. I dont know much about tennis but i would like some advice on what racquet would be good for me
I live in a town of about 2500 people 120 miles from any kind of city and lessons arent an option. I have some friends who are pretty good and they are teaching me
Hey Blake,
If you want to swing harder definitely try a smaller head-size from a 95" to 100" and a frame that's relatively thick not too thick like a Wilson hammer. Also check what grip size suits you best when holding the racket for this will provide stability when you hit. Don't go expensive on the rackets, seriously, go to your nearest sporting goods store and try holding and swing a bunch of racquets really get the feel of it, demo one you like if you can. My suggestion get the mechanics down on forehand and backhand swings, slices, volleys and serves, for this will prevent future injuries and will definitely improve your game. Go online and you'll find streaming videos on all these, specially on tennis.com. By that time you can really determine the kind of racquet you want working with your play style......I hope some of this helps.

Head microgel Oversize
Tennis Racquet/Strings question?
I want to purchase the Head Metallix 2, but it's swing style is made for moderate swings. I have aggressive swings, meaning I need more control than power.
So I was wondering, if I restring it with good control strings and put it at a high tension (maybe 65), would that make it have enough control for my swing style?
No, you will just end up breaking strings. Always buy a racquet that suits your style.
