Head Magnesium Tennis

Tennis Racket Help Please?

Hey, I just broke my old racket (Head Magnesium 2001 - Yeah, I know it's old), and I'd like to buy a new one.
My grip is irregular, I hold it like I would a ping-pong paddle; It's an Eastern grip, but with my index finger extended out along the handle, and it's like that for every shot I do.

I hit topspin and slice forehands and backhands, uncommonly flat on either side. I do have a flat-ish serve, though.

What would be the best racket for me around or under $100? It'd be nice if it was light too...Thanks.
Also, I'd categorize myself as an intermediate player with a 4.0 - 4.5 rating.

head liquidmetal radical is an excellent racket for an unbeatable price - this racket is used by so many beginners, top college recruits and even some pros (as practice rackets) that it's not even funny

Also try to find some used babolat rackets. the Pure drive standard is like the liquidmetal radical, except easier to use. You can definitely find it for less that 100 on craigslist, but BE CAREFUL on EBAY!!!!

most wilson rackets are really expensive. But the one that I recommend that's under 100 is the wilson k pro tour - my racket. It's really light and maneuverable. It's made from "karophyte," which is two steps above ncode (mentioned above) in terms of the technologies used by wilson in their rackets. It it's too light for you, it's excellent for customization with lead tape.

Which tennis racket is better?

I'm an intermediate tennis player and I have a liquidmetal 4 that cost $70. I also have a 'head magnesium 1000' that cost $2 at goodwill, but it originally sold at $50 online and is now sold out. I don't know why but the liquidmetal doesn't feel as comfortable as the other head. I mean judging by the feedbacks that each racket has received, one would think that the liquidmetal would be much better. Maybe it's because I have more control with the magnesium since it's about 2 cm shorter. But the magnesium just feels smoother while the liquidmetal feels a lot more rigid and therefore lacks a little control.

having used a liquidmetal before, I also thought it seemed very stiff....i think its more of a feel thing than anything else...some people like stiffer racquets and some people like more flexible racquets

having said this, the magneisum 1000 is a pretty old racqet compared to the liquidmetal (which also isnt very new, but i still know some high level players who like them), so you might be kinda outdated technology wise...however if you think the other racquet feels better, i would suggest you keep using it unitl you can get a new racquet...

if your ever looking to get a new racquet, try getting one of the head flexpoint racquets ( i think they start around 80 but i know i can get mine (flexpoint Radical) for about 120).....i personally think that the control on them is much better and they are definately a lot less stiff...plus there pretty new (I'm a decently highly ranked junior player and i know tons of people who use them)

Hope that helps :)
