Head Flexpoint 4 vs. Head Liquidmetal 4 Racquets?
I am a teenage intermediate/ low-intermediate tennis player. I am looking for a racquet that has plenty of control and power. Or are the other flexpoints or liquidmetal racquets even better?
I currently have the Head Ti.agassi Pro tennis racquet, but my arm and wrist hurts.
i played with Head Liquidmetal 4 right now and after trying for some time, i'm planning to buy Flexpoint 4 as well. i think either racquet will give you nice blend of control/power. here is my suggestion:
a) Head Liquidmetal 4
- smaller headsize (102 sq in) and heavier (10.7 oz / 303g), decent control but still give you sufficient power (i don't think it's purely made for power, no, it's more to the control side)
- liquidmetal added to the frame increase stiffness, you'll feel the racquet neck is flexible enough, yet the frame is stiffer, nice feel when hitting with heavy topspin
- string: Head Synthetic Gut 18 PPS strung at 55 lbs (try 58 for more control)
- Head Extremesoft overgrip
b) Head Flexpoint 4
- larger headsize (107 sq in) and lighter (10.3 oz / 292 g), more power than LM4 but less control (now this is more to the power than control, i think the other guy got it the wrong way around or he barely play with Head racquets).
- also incorporates liquidmetal to the frame
- flexpoint at 3 and 9 o'clock helps controlling the ball
- string: Head Synthetic Gut 18 PPS strung at 55 lbs (try 58 for more control).
i'd suggest you try to find your own personal settings. add some lead tape to the frame for additional weight (esp for the FP4) and try different stringing tension. these racquets are good and i believe if you are a player with a good medium swing style, then they are your soul mates.
oh but talk is cheap. try them yourself before buying, okay?
