Grip Tennis What grip size in tennis is right for a pretty small handed 11 year old that wants a bigger size than 1/4?
I am getting the areo strike and was wondering what grip size i should have. I am 11 and have pretty small hands but i want a bigger grip size than 1/4
there is a textbook way to fit a grip, however im a firm believer in what you personally like, 3/8 is the next size up which is right in the middle. im 6'1 and have huge hands and i play witha 3/8 and i measure out over a 5/8. just remember, a smaller grip is gonna givve you more wrist snap, but weaker. a bigger grip will give you a more solid wrist... better for volleying, etc.

How do I figure out my tennis grip size?
I have very long fingers. I have tried measuring by ruler and through a print out guide and they both measured me as above 4 5/8 or grip size 5. Is there another method to measure my grip size. This is a much bigger grip then I have used before and i get comments from time to time that my grip handle is quite thick.
