Extreme Western Tennis Grips

Tennis Strings! Need Help!?
ok im a 4.0 tennis player with a semi-western grip. I like putting topspin but im not insane about it. My current racquet is Nfocus by wilson. I just demoed a racquet which i loved, Head Extreme Pro. Unfortunately I can only get it for christmas. My Nfocus racquet strings are going to break soon and i dont know which to put on. Also I was thinking to try out string that would suit Nfocus and Extreme Pro. I really need a string that has great durability, some power, more control than power or same, and around 8-14 dollar range.
BTW: Right handed, two handed backhand, more base liner, play tennis about everyday 2.5 hours a day.
Need string that would last me a few months and it wouldn't be so harsh on arm, and good comfort.
Would tecnibre x-one biphase 16 be good for what i said and for both racquets?
Well there are lots of different options available,
For Example Babolat Have: Pro Hurricane Tour, Pro Hurricane, Duralst 15L, Xcel Power, Babolat VS Touch Natural Gut, etc.
Luxion Have: Big Banger ALU Power, Big Banger ALU Power Spin, Big Banger ALU Power Rough, Big Banger Original etc.
Topspin Have: Topspin Cyber Flash And Topspin Cyber Blue.
Signum Pro Have: Signum Pro Poly Plasma, Signum Pro Pure, Signum Pro Poly Power, etc.
Prince Have: Prince Recoil, Prince Lightning, Prince Synthetic Gut.
These are the most popular brands and strings used on tour but I would get your tennis coach to recommend a string.
But on top of all that you need to pick a suitabe tension.
Looser the string the more power. The Tighter the string the more control, But with tight string they can also damage your arm.
So you need to think carefully about you tension and string.
On your racquet it will say the recommended tension and the recommended String.
Cheers Gordo

Andy Roddick: Forehand Closeup
Is it possible to change your grip when you've been playing tennis for 18 years?
When I was younger I used to hit my forehands with a ton of topspin and hit up on the ball a lot. Now I'm trying to drive through it more and I find my wrist is hurting and I don't have the stability I need using my extreme western grip on my forehand.
I like to hit through my shots with a small amount of topspin, and don't like to hit straight up on the ball like Nadal.
Can I simply change to another group or should it be more gradual? What grip type would you suggest?
You want to go more towards a Semi Western grip as opposed to a full Western grip. You can make a grip change just so you know it is a difficult change to make especially if you have been playing that long. I have found that most people making major changes in a stroke or grip like you are about to undertake , takes a minimum of three months to feel comfortable with it. You can make the change and i think there is some validity for you doing that, but just expect to be frustrated for a while. Try and take a few private lessons, just to make sure you are clear on the different grips and you do not trade one bad habit for another. The last part of your question is whether or not you should do it gradually or all at once. Make the change all at once. That way when you can do it you can really do it. Making gradual grip changes takes even longer.
