eastern tennis grips

western grip, semi western, eastern, continental grip?
i find it hard to do many one handed backhand slices with the continental grip... idk really how to play with the western... and im wondering if i should switch to the western due to this acclaimed spin you can achieve from the western
but i really need more top spin out of my game.... i tend to follow through correctly like Rodger does..ya kno start low and over the shoulder and behind the head.. but idk what im missing. i have a HEAD Ti s5 with some hybrid control strings. 18ga in the mains for more topspin. but its nothin to some players i play with similar/different strokes but just different grips
Yes I said its hard to do a backhand with somethin like a western....but I'm talking in general for a FORHAND grip... I would like more power/spin out of my tennis game.... Mainly more spin. So semi? Eastern? Stay at continental?
Roger uses an eastern grip. I would definately try go with a grip between eastern and semi-western. in order to get spin you need plently of racket-head speed and flick of your wrist.

Video Tennis Tip - The Eastern Backhand Grip
Tennis Backhand Technique – How to Apply It to Win the Game
Has playing tennis become such an arduous task for you? Perhaps you're having trouble with your tennis backhand technique. Before you giveup, read this article and discover how you can improve your tennis backhand technique to win your next match.
Let me share with you 4 tips that can help you with your game:
1. Doing your tennis backhand technique properly involved leaning how to grip your tennis racket the right way as well. Just put that part of your hand between your thumb and index finger at the top left slanting edge of the tennis racket you are using. When you make a shot, you step forward, and your hitting zone should be in front of your knee cap. This is next to your one-handed backhand swing. As you make a shot, you should turn to your left ride. You will see the ball going towards you and that's when you bring your racket back and take another shot. Do this consistently and you will get better at your tennis backhand technique in no time.
2. Now that you are doing consistent practices with your tennis backhand technique, you can use a continental grip when you do your volleys and serves. Just practice blocking the ball and not really hitting it. Don't chop or swing. Instead, just use a solid, blocking motion. This is very important in improving your tennis backhand technique.
3. When you go near the net, be sure to stand at a distance of one foot from the net. Put your feet apart. Step forward using your left foot when you employ a forehand volley. Take note also that a one-handed backhand is different from a two-handed backhand. The two-handed backhand is better because it is more consistent than a forehand. Try this and see your tennis backhand technique improve.
4. Another tennis backhand technique you can do is using a continental grip when you hit a slice backhand because that's more common. On the other hand, an eastern backhand is typically used for a topspin backhand. A semi-western grip is also used. Try these for your tennis backhand technique.
These four are just some of the basic and most important tennis backhand techniques used in playing tennis. Practice one after the other in a consistent manner. Before long, you will notice a great improvement in your game, you will enjoy playing with tennis more, and you will eventually win your matches.
