i basically play 17-18 hours of tennis in a week some days more than others but i play atl least 1 hour and abit everyday. And MY racket strings keep breaking every 2weeks, i use prince duraflex synthetic gut and string it mid-tension
Is this normal or is there something wrong with my racket
i would like to string my own rackets but i do not know where to buy the string machine thing and how much it would cost. any opinions on this?
This is normal for someone like to you since you are playing a lot of tennis. If your NTRP rating is more than 3.0 I would recommend you go up 1 level and try Multifilament, an upgrade to the synthetic gut. It more durable than synthetic gut yet it will still have same feel and touch on the ball. It will also have more spins too. However it comes with a higher price. If you are breaking Multifilament like synthetic gut, then level 3 is Polyester. It is the most durable string available in the market, most pros are using this type of strings.
You can start stringing your own racquet with machine as low as 200-300 bucks to start. I worked with 2 machines, one is Ektelon which is about 300$ and Babolat Star 5 $3000 .

This informative primer answers these and other elusive equipment and performance-related questions that perennially plague hackers and experts alike. A simplified, layperson`s companion to the authors` previous work, The Physics and Technology of Tennis, this conveniently sized guide to selecting racquets and strings includes bite-sized explanations of the possible expectations of equipment choices.
The Butterfly Table Tennis Replacement Net is for use with the National League or Europa net sets. This black cotton net is 6 feet long and includes string.
Helping coaches and players streamline their learning systems, improve their performance, and further their understanding and enjoyment of the game, this book provides an entertaining and enlightening look at the physics behind how to use a racquet to change the speed and direction of a tennis ball. Distinguishing the science from the folklore and myth, it makes the physics of tennis understandable to players of all skill levels. Important issues such as the role of string tension, the meaning of power, the importance of swing weight, and the relevance of the various sweet spots are addressed. Athletes are shown how to play better tennis by obeying the laws of the universe, optimizing equipment for ultimate performance, and understanding the dynamics of tennis events. From speed-to-spin ratios and shock vibration scales to choosing string on a moist day, this guide covers it all.
New way of playing Tennis. Based on European lawn tennis, it has evolved into one of the most popular sports today in Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Play singles or doubles, the same as regular tennis, but use soft rubber balls. Speed and power is replaced by strategy and skill. Reduced speed of the ball makes it fun to play for the whole family. Unique game maneuvers are possible with soft tennis, with varied rallies and net plays. Set includes one lightweight racquet (which is more flexible than a traditional racquet and with lower string compression), two soft hollow rubber tennis balls, pump kit, rule book and carrying case. Pump kit included to adjust ball air pressure. Balls are the same size as standard tennis balls. What tennis strings should I use?
I currently have a wilson ntour two strung with prince topspin with duraflex and 57 lbs, I am going to buy a wilson Ksurge and I am not sure what strings to get. I used the Ksurge and i have to swing harder to get the power i want when compared to the ntour. I like a balance between spin and durability with a little power but i like to swing hard to provide my own power so thats not as big of an issue. Thanks
I know I go through strings like a fat kid goes through cake. Just this year I've had my racket restrung at least 8 times. So I've dabbled around with strings for a while and my regular string of choice is Prince Topspin Plus 16, its a yellow greenish string that is fairly common and cheap (around $20) Hope I helped
I forgot to say I've also dabbled with tension and I have my racket strung at 58.
