Cushion Replacement Grips

Whats the difference between a replacement grip tape and over grip tape?

would it be okay if you were to use over grip tape instead of replacement grip tape if there was a difference? I went to a store and got cushion grip tape and overgrip tape but i want to replace the the original grip tape. i dont know the differences. besides cushion and over grip is based on preferences. but is replacement gt different?

Well, the replacement grip usually refers to taking the original grip that came with the racquet off. Once you take the original grip the racquet came with off, then you would use a replacement grip to grip your racquet.

An overgrip usually goes on top of the original grip of the racquet. Usually players have two grips on the their racquets, but when one wears out, will take the overgrip off, and replace it with a new one.
