I recently changed my tennis serve grip from the "frying pan" to the contintental grip? why so akward?
As a beginner in tennis i used the frying pan grip to serve in tennis, but i went to a beginners clinic and he showed me how to use the continental grip, Im suppost to snap my wrist during my serve, like throwing a ball but only upward. and it just feels so akward to me , plus i cant seem to even get my serve in play unless i barely hit it. And sometimes after my serve i notice that my grip somehow changed from a contintental to a sort of eastern forehand grip, somewhere during the serve. I really just want some advice on using this grip to serve, thanks

i have been playing tennis for 10 years now and i am a highly ranked Junior in the nation
the "frying pan" grip (its basically ur forehand grip) is the worst serve u can have (technically)
i personally use a continental grip which gives me great slice AND speed(i can hit it as hard as 110) (well im 13 so that's pretty good)
anyway....i know it feels awkward so heres what u gonna do:
TAKE A BASKET OF BALLS AND HIT THOUSANDS OF SERVES EVERY DAY
itl be natural to u eventually....AND BE PATIENT
since ur a beginner dont expect to hit hard and perfect like a pro
take it easy and take off some pace and replace it with position ok??

Tennis: Two handed backhand vs. One handed backhand?
So i have been playing tennis for quite sometime and am on the varsity team. but i have trouble now on my two handed back hand, it seems as though i dont get enough reach or room to hit the ball. how can i fix it? or i was thinking about changing to one handed backhand and have been experimenting on it as well with the continental grip. but is there another grip you use to do the one handed backhand?
I'm using double-handed backhand. Maybe u are using your dominant hand more in your double-handed backhand. Hitting double-handed backhand is like hitting a forehand with the less dominant hand. Maybe u can watch more video of it online. I learn it that way too. Most one-handed backhanders use eastern backhand grip. But some extreme single-handed backhander use semi-western backhand grip to generate the most amount of topspin. Some players will mix up the use of the two grip.
