Arthur Ashe Tennis How often should I play tennis/do fitness training if I want to play college tennis?
I'm 14 years old and currently play tennis twice a week, an hour semiprivate lesson my teaching professional, and I'm about to start doing a 90 minute clinic at Arthur Ashe to replace my current one every saturday. I know this isn't enough, but I was wondering to have a decent shot of playing D-2 or D-1 how much I would have to play and work on my fitness. I just started playing district level USTA tournaments this summer, and now that I'm in the top 20, I'm starting to play in sectionals. Any advice is appreciated.
You have to start at a pretty young age, and then you need the passion for tennis, that 'fire in the eye' they all talk about.
