Sketchers make extra wide shoes unlike Puma or Nike. And they don't look like senior citizen shoes.

for really really casual: get flat lacoste canvas shoes. no converse they're for 10 yr olds. and for a little more dressy, leather ankle boots or leather shoes, not pointy because you'll look like a greek or a persian nightclub owner. and don't wear those with jeans, nice trousers
