Ace Face Tennis

Was that the biggest forehand winner in tennis?
Guys! Did you see Novak against Tsonga in Marseille. It was awesome. in the tiebreak novak was down 6-2 facing 4 Matchpoints. Then one the serve of Tsonga he hit a winner with speed of 187kph!!!!!!! I was thrilled!
Have there ever been a greater shot or it is a record!(Of course I dont mind aces!)
That shot must have been amazing, but it did not beat the current record for fastest forehand, which was set by Gael Monfils at 190km/hr or 118mph. Serve-wise, Roddick set the record at 156mph.

It Must Be Love: Sam Querrey
Would i be able to beat this guy?
He is 17 a senior in high school and hes a lefty about 5'10 good forehand and an okay one handed backhand is volleying is great and his serve is about on average 105 mph
I am 14 a freshman in high school a righty about 5'8 excellent forehand and a great backhand volleying is "okay" and i can ace this guy countiously but the thing im concerned about is his quickness and that he can volley pretty well and jump about 1-3ft high i can only jump .5-1.2 ft high and move quick when i need too would there be anything i need to work on before facing him ill have to face him in the tennis tryouts for #1 singles
This guy sounds like a very worthy opponent and a great match up of different strengths. I recommend 2 tactics(use both or stick to just 1 if he can't stop it).
1)Sounds like he will try to get to net a lot and lobbing won't be very successful. Passing shots will be key. Beat him with combos such as 1st pass keep low, then next ball go for the winner. Or 1st ball hard right at him, next ball sharp angle. Throw up at least a couple of lobs to keep him from closing so tight to the net. The concept here is to have confidence in your strong points, but don't give him easy points by going for the winning pass on every swing. A good drill for this is a 2 on 1 where you are on the baseline and 2 pretty good volleyers are at the net. Keep your shots within the singles line and try to beat them in games to 21. Because there are 2 at the net, you will need to hit several balls over before you get good chances to pass them. The 2 at the net can't try to put the ball away on the 1st volley.
2)Take some chances with your big groundies and attack his backhand, coming into net when you've got a shot you can really tag. He's now stuck with hitting probably his least favorite shot(backhand passers) and you're keeping him off the net reducing his chances to volley. In this case your going after his weakness, with a little risk taking on your part. A good drill for this is a baseline game where you must come into the net if the groundstoke is at or shorter than the service line. You will be forced to take some chances on approach shots and finish some points at the net.
You never know how these kind of matches will go until you play, but it helps to have a game plan with some options.Don't forget, as a senior, he may seem initially confident in playing you, but if you show him that you're going to fight for every point, the pressure on him could be end up helping you. Best of luck.
